Common Questions

Things people often ask

Do I need any legal or financial background to take these courses?

None whatsoever. These courses are written for people who are thoughtful but not specialists — the sort of person who has been meaning to sort out their papers and simply hasn't found the right starting point yet. Everything is explained in plain language, and no prior knowledge is assumed.

Will I receive a legal document or a will at the end of a course?

No. These courses are educational in nature and do not produce legal documents. What you will gain is a clear understanding of what each document does, what questions to think through before seeing a lawyer, and how to approach those conversations well. For the actual drafting of a will or LPA, you would still engage a qualified solicitor.

How are the courses delivered, and how much time do I need each week?

Course materials are delivered online and structured as weekly readings. Each week's content is designed to take no more than an hour or two — some weeks considerably less. The pace is intentionally unhurried, and there is no penalty for taking things slowly or returning to earlier material.

Are these courses relevant for Muslim families in Singapore?

Yes. The introductory course covers both the Intestate Succession Act (which applies to non-Muslim estates) and the relevant aspects of Muslim inheritance law administered through the Syariah Court. Where the rules differ significantly, this is noted clearly so that every learner can follow the path that applies to their circumstances.

What is the cost, and is there a way to try before committing?

The three courses are priced at SGD 199, SGD 429, and SGD 819 respectively. We are happy to arrange a brief introductory conversation before you enrol, so you can decide which course — if any — feels right for where you are now. There is no obligation whatsoever in reaching out.

Can I take the courses together with a spouse or sibling?

Many learners find it helpful to work through the material alongside a partner or a close family member, and we welcome this. Each enrolment covers one individual's access to the course materials. If you wish to share the experience with someone, please mention this when you get in touch and we can talk through the options that suit your situation.
